On the initiative of the city council, a new network of the Internet Of Things (IoT) is currently being developed in Ingolstadt. Based on LoRaWAN, a low-cost and energy-saving digital network technology, IoT sensors and actuators can be used for a variety of tasks: noise measurement, air pollutant measurement, soil moisture measurement, groundwater level measurement, control lighting, passer-by counters, parking management, etc.
LoRaWAN is therefore an interesting technology for applications in the field of smart city, smart agriculture, environmental monitoring. It is well suited for self-construction projects, software projects in the back end of the system (database, visualization, communication) and certainly also offers new business models.
At the small network meeting in the brigk, various companies and private individuals are meeting for the third time for the loose exchange and networking of activities. Interested parties are cordially invited.
The INSecurity – Ingolstadt-based research group Angewandte IT-Sicherheit at the Technical University of Ingolstadt is happy to support projects in the Internet of Things (IoT) area and is available with advice and assistance on the topic of "IT security".
