Professor Hof presented his views on the Internet of Things in a workshop of the VerbraucherService of Bavaria on the 23.11.2016. A central message of his talk was not to demonize the Internet of Things because of privacy issues, but rather to encourage a development of the IoT following the European understanding of privacy. Hof argues for a better IT security of IoT products. He vehemently demands a comprehensive product liability on software for IoT devices.
