Professor Hans-Joachim Hof now supports NEWEXIST e.V. on the Advisory Board. NEWEXIST is a student association at the Technical University of Ingolstadt with the aim of providing start-ups and all those interested in providing a network of students, professors, associations and institutions. This has created a one-stop shop for students to share their ideas, find co-founders or quickly get tips on how to start a business.
On the history of NEWEXIST:
NEWEXIST e.V. was founded in 2013 by two students Marcin Sporys and Stefan Lang. The aim was to provide a contact point for students interested in starting up. The two realized early on that they were offering support to founders. This was followed by a series of university-internal events and regular tables. Due to the fluctuation caused by the study technology, the board changed again and again in the next few years.
At the beginning of 2017, Marcin Sporys was supported by Björn- Christian Ningel and Ann-Kathrin Jäger on the board. This step also made minor strategic adjustments. The event series "Ideas&Beers" has been given a new character. Since then, NEWEXIST has also been present outside the university, bringing together the entire start-up scene in Ingolstadt and the surrounding area.
At the end of 2017, Björn-Christian Ningel succeeded Marcin Sporysal's first board member. In the course of this election, the NEWEXIST founder resigned from the Board of Management on request. As before, Ann-Kathrin Jäger continued to be a member of the Board of Directors. The team was completed by Johannes Engeln, who is now a member of the Executive Board team for the first time.
This was followed by a series of events under the motto "ideas&beers meets". For example, the event "ideas&beers meets female founders" took place. Here, the focus was exclusively on female founders.
In 2018, Ann-Kathrin Jäger focused on completing her studies and resigned from the Board of Directors prematurely. Johannes Engeln, who is celebrating success throughout Germany with his start-up ChargeX, also voluntarily resigned from the Board of Management in order to devote himself entirely to the development of his start-up.
In the course of this, Julian Kehrer and Stefan Lang were appointed to the Executive Board. The two board members are well known to the association. Stefan Lang founded the association in 2013 and Julian Kehrer was previously responsible for the NEWEXIST network as head of the department.
As a result, a major strategy realignment took place in August 2018. Together with NEWEXIST confidants, a weekend was worked on a new orientation of the association.
Since then, NEWEXIST has been divided into three areas:
The aim of this division is to be able to target potential members in a more targeted manner and to form teams with similar goals in order to strengthen the community. It was also decided to implement an advisory board. It consists of four entrepreneurs and professors each. The advisory board is intended to strengthen the association as well as further professionalize it.
In 2019, as planned last year, the Innovation Sprint took place for the first time. The first sprint served the club as a prototype for the following projects.
At the moment, the consistent work of the entire team pays off. NEWEXIST is firmly rooted in the Ingolstadt founding scene. Through the advisory board, the association was also politically consolidated and has strong supporters.
